Comments from some of Dave's correspondence students:
"I would like to thank you again for the stuff in lesson #1! It's exciting and fun and it's giving me a real sense of having a direction! I love knowing how things work!! Thank you!!!"--Lauren from California
"I believe this is and will be one of the better investments I've made. Although I certainly expected a professional package, my expectations were exceeded."--Bruce from Arkansas

Lessons will cater to each students individual needs, and address where they want to go with the bass. They will include some written exercises, as well as recorded examples examples. Students will be required to do some written work, and to record themselves playing some of the lesson material. When completed, return the materials for evaluation prior to receiving your next lesson.

Requirements:
1) A bass.
2) A metronome, or preferably, a programmable drum machine.
3) A means to record yourself speaking, playing your bass, and the drum machine where necessary. CD or cassette is acceptable. Let me know which you prefer, so I can prepare your lesson in that format.

To get your first lesson:
Get a sheet of music paper and answer the following questions. This is just for background info. Include any other information you think is relevant, and include some examples of your playing, if you like.
1) How long have you been playing bass?
2) What kind of bass and amp do you own?
3) Have you taken lessons before? If so, for how long and what kinds of things did you study (generally)?
4) Can you read music at all? Bass clef? Treble clef?
5) Do you play in a band? Professionally? What style?
6) Who are some of your favorite bass players?
7) Do as many as you can of the following. Write a bass clef. Write a 4/4 time signature. Write the key signature for the key of E major. Write the E major scale (include any #'s or b's). Write an E major triad. Write an E diminished triad. Write an E-7 chord.
